KEIKI SURF FOR THE EARTH AND BEACH CLEAN-UP

The Kohanaiki ‘Ohana has organized this event in conjunction with other Earth-Day activities for 25 years. It is a surf contest and beach clean up for the youth 14 years old and younger.  This zero waste event is a very popular family day with over 160 keiki participants which helps build our community and sends a message to care for our beach and for each other.  The keiki paint colorful signs with messages to pick up trash, water the native plants, drive slowly, love the earth and the respect the ocean.  Parents and volunteers help place these signs along the beach access road as friendly reminders to all beach-goers.
